The Makers Series: Street Art

If you had a blank canvas, what would be your message to the world?

Get hands-on with street art in this creative workshop exploring spray paint, stencilling and bold visual design.

In this session, participants will create their own canvas-based artwork, learning the fundamentals of spray painting and stencil-making. You’ll be guided through techniques to build layers, experiment with colour and develop striking compositions. You will also get the opportunity to design your own.

This is a space to experiment, learn new techniques and express your style, with no prior experience needed.

About the Artist – Alec Saunders.

Alec Saunders is a street artist and creative practitioner whose work explores identity, place and public space through bold visual language. With roots in graffiti and contemporary street art, Alec’s practice spans murals, live art and community-based projects.

Passionate about accessibility and creative expression, Alec works closely with young people and communities to develop skills, confidence and artistic voice; creating work that lives both in the streets and beyond.

The Makers Series is a monthly workshop programme for young people aged 16–30 in Luton, designed to build practical creative skills and support the next generation of artists.

From street art to sound, film to design, each session offers the chance to learn something new, connect with others and create original work in a relaxed, supportive environment.
