Info
This July, PLATFORM returns with a special South Asian Heritage Month edition, celebrating the creativity, culture and lived experiences of South Asian communities across Luton.
Designed as a space for experimentation and connection, PLATFORM invites local artists to share developing ideas, test new work and collaborate through live performance and visual art.
PLATFORM showcases a range of artistic expressions, which include music, spoken word, dance, film, fashion, painting and other creative disciplines — all inspired by the diversity and energy of Luton’s creative community.
More than just a showcase, PLATFORM gives emerging creatives the chance to build confidence, meet collaborators and present work in a welcoming, community-focused environment. Audiences can expect fresh talent, honest storytelling and a rare insight into art as it evolves in real time.
To celebrate South Asian Heritage Month, July’s PLATFORM lineup presents:
- Alaudin Jami – a multidisciplinary creative and founder whose work spans illustration, design, storytelling, and community-focused projects.
- Rita Begum – a writer and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores identity, resilience, family and belonging.
- Sonia Chowdhury – a British Bengali storyteller who shares authentic, underrepresented voices through documentary, poetry and digital media.
- Fateh Khan – a multilingual poet and scriptwriter whose work explores mental health, identity, and social issues through poetry, songwriting and performance.
- Kiah Rihanna – a Luton-based singer-songwriter celebrated for her powerful vocals and piano-led sound. Blending original music with carefully chosen covers, her performances are both heartfelt and captivating.
- Siani Bugtti – a writer and poet whose work explores love, loss, identity and healing through deeply personal and emotionally honest storytelling.
