Global Streets secures funding from Arts Council England to bring even more spectacular outdoor arts to Luton

The Global Streets network, run by FESTIVAL.ORG, have secured £1million in National Lottery funding over the next three years to take world-class outdoor arts events and experiences away from London and into communities across the country.

Revoluton is one of 12 partners in this national network that work together to bring outdoor arts events of international acclaim to communities that are culturally underserved. The partners are focused on working with local people to deliver free, spectacular international productions which lift the community’s spirit and bring people together. Since 2015, Global Streets has delivered more than 280 performances of 41 productions, together reaching 810,000 audience members and participants.

Toby Smith, Associate Director of Global Streets, said: “Global Streets sits at the heart of FESTIVAL.ORG’s international, national and local ambition, and this new 3-year programme will allow us to further deepen the project’s impact, as well as explore and share new ways of working developed from our experience and learning.”

This new investment will enable Revoluton to present three outdoor arts events over the coming years, starting with Lampadophores on Thursday 09 November. These colourful, magical puppets, presented by Picto Facto, will light-up Luton with their bright colours and abstract geometric shapes.
