Meet Revoluton’s 2026 Associate Artists

We’re excited to introduce the three creative practitioners joining us as Revoluton Associates for 2026: Priya Ramkissoon, Charlotte Read and Kasia Truefitt.

Each Associate brings a distinct creative practice and a shared commitment to making work with and for communities in Luton. From textiles and storytelling to mindful art, creative writing and dance, their commissions will create new opportunities for people to connect, share experiences and explore the stories that make our town what it is.

Priya Ramkissoon -Traces & Places

Priya is a cultural producer, artist and founder of Imiloa Collective, a social creative enterprise working across the UK, USA, Mauritius and Southern Africa. Her community-led practice champions traditional craft, cultural heritage and creative skills, while creating opportunities and celebrating community stories.

Through Traces & Places, Priya will explore the people, migration histories, businesses and everyday culture that shape Bury Park. Working with residents, traders and local communities, conversations, textiles and collected materials will come together in a collaborative textile installation.

Priya’s commission is also part of Revoluton’s Undercurrent programme; an ongoing 2-year project surfacing stories of migration, activism, creative subcultures and the collective movement of people along the River Lea. Her piece will be joining the Undercurrent tour starting off in Luton and terminating in East London.

When asked what she was looking forward to the most about her commission, Priya said: “I’m most excited about connecting with traders, residents and communities; uncovering the personal stories behind familiar places; and creating something genuinely rooted in Bury Park.”

Charlotte Read – Mindful Art with MIND Luton Wellbeing Centre

Luton-born creative Charlotte Read specialises in puppetry theatre and workshop facilitation, with a passion for making the arts accessible and meaningful for local audiences.

As part of her Revoluton Associate commission, Charlotte will work with MIND Luton Wellbeing Centre service users through workshops exploring mindful art, journalling and creative writing. Participants will have the opportunity to develop creative techniques, share experiences and create work that will form part of a public display challenging misconceptions around mental health.

Charlotte told us she is most excited: “… to create a safe and creative space where people can explore their experiences through art and writing, and to see those stories become part of something that can help others understand mental health differently.”

Kasia Truefitt – Dance and Movement

Kasia Truefitt is a choreographer and community dance artist with more than a decade’s experience across dance, education and community settings. With strong connections to Luton, her practice focuses on accessible and inclusive creativity.

Through her commission, Kasia will connect with children and local communities, exploring belonging, place and green spaces through dance, movement and storytelling.

Kasia’s project centres around using movement to connect and had this to say: “I’m looking forward to connecting more deeply with the local community and creating a space where children can express themselves, share their experiences and explore what belonging means to them through dance and creativity.”
