Info

Put a spring in your step this autumn!

Seeta Patel Dance presents an outdoor adaptation of Stravinsky’s iconic ballet The Rite of Spring, brought to life through powerful classical Indian dance style Bharatanatyam.

Join us for performances on Sunday 6 September at 14:00 and 17:00 and for a family workshop at 15:30 (TBC) at St George’s Square.

With a striking fusion of Western classical music and Indian classical dance, the piece celebrates the connection between cultures in an open-air setting. Rite of Spring tells a pagan folk story with primal themes of sacrifice and renewal.

Expect to be immersed in the outdoor elemental power of changing light and shifting winds. The absence of a traditional stage blurs the boundary between performers and audience, making the experience more intimate and connected to the world around it.
