Info
Some call it the wheels of steel and others call it the 1s and 2s.
Whatever you call it, get a chance to stand behind the deck and learn the art of DJing with Conrad Kira.
In this hands-on workshop with the London-based DJ, producer and songwriter you’ll be introduced to professional DJ equipment and learn the fundamentals of mixing.
Whether you’re into house, garage, hip-hop, drum & bass, grime, R&B, or simply love discovering new music, this session is your chance to get behind the controls and learn how DJs create experiences through music.
Working directly on the decks, you’ll learn:
- how to cue tracks
- beatmatching
- crafting seamless transitions between songs and
- how DJs create atmosphere and control energy
Most importantly, you’ll get hands-on time behind the decks yourself, experimenting with mixes, trying out transitions and developing your confidence as a DJ.
No experience needed; just bring your love of music and an open mind.
About the Artist – Conrad Kira
Conrad is a South London DJ/Rapper and Producer. When Conrad’s not lurking in London he abides in a secret hide out in Japan where he indulges in a life of Anime, Video Games and Cheap Sake. “I like to be socially aware in my music but I also like to dance stupid and be a geek”. Conrad spent his childhood listening to Kraftwerk, Adam Ant and Tupac. However his biggest influence came from the Grime and Garage pirate radio stations, these are what drove him to want to write and make music.
