Be part of history – Celebrate the launch of Luton Henge!

Join us on Saturday 26 July 2025 for the Luton Henge Festival, a one-day celebration marking the official launch of Luton’s brand-new monument—a bold fusion of ancient inspiration and modern community spirit.

Set in the heart of Marsh Farm, just outside Marsh House and near the historic grounds of Waulud’s Bank, this free festival is your invitation to experience the very first chapter of Luton Henge. Led by artist Matthew Rosier, commissioned by the Chilterns National Landscape and produced by Revoluton Arts as part of the Nature Calling programme, this unique outdoor space has been shaped by local hands and hearts, built to inspire creativity, connection and pride for years to come.

Expect a vibrant day filled with live performances, hands-on art and craft workshops, local food and exciting activities for all ages. Whether you’re a long time local or a curious visitor, there’s something for everyone to discover, explore and enjoy.

This is more than a monument—it’s a new meeting place, rooted in history and brought to life by the people of Luton. Come be part of the celebration, leave your mark and help shape the future of this incredible space.

Luton Henge Festival – where art, history & community come alive.

Where is the festival taking place?

The event will be held at the new Luton Henge in Marsh Farm, Luton, near the site of Waulud’s Bank. It is next to Marsh House Community Centre LU3 2SR.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

We will always try to go ahead unless the weather is dangerous to audience, performer or facilitators. Please dress appropriately for the weather (including sun hats and sun cream if it’s sunny!). If we do need to cancel or change times for the event we will let you know on our socials or via email if you have signed up to hear more about the event. You can do this here.

What time does the festival start and end?

Activities run from 12PM to 9PM.

Is the event suitable for children?

Absolutely! There will be plenty of family-friendly activities, including arts and crafts, performances and interactive workshops.

Is the festival site wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There will be a wheelchair-accessible pathway leading into the centre of the site, allowing access to key areas. The path will be made by packed chalk on the Henge site and before that the path is tarmac. There is an accessible entrance at the side of Marsh House Community Centre.

Will there be seating available?

Yes. We will provide seating for those who cannot stand for long periods at the performance area.

What support is available for people with visual impairments?

Our performers and workshop facilitators will offer short verbal descriptions of themselves and their setups to help those who are blind or partially sighted engage with the event.

Will there be captioning or BSL interpretation?

Unfortunately, captioning and BSL interpretation will not be available at this event.

Is the event suitable for people who need a quieter environment?

The festival is designed to be relaxed and flexible — you can come and go as you please. For louder moments, a quiet space will be available at Marsh Farm Community Centre for anyone who needs a break from the activity.

Are guide dogs or assistance animals welcome?

Yes they are.

Can I preview the site before attending?

Yes! Once the Henge is built, we’ll share a video walkthrough on our social media and website so you can get a feel for the space before you arrive.

Is there accessible parking or a drop-off point near the entrance?

There is a pay and display carpark next to Marsh House. If you follow directions to Marsh House Community Centre the entrance to the carpark will be clear once you turn off the main road. You can also park at Leagrave train station which is a seven minute walk from the site
