Info
Drama. Intrigue. Live in Dallow.
Come experience Echoes of Dallow, a unique audio-based community project celebrating the voices in Dallow.
This event showcases the inspiring work of Revoluton Associate, Shemiza Rashid, created in collaboration with local residents from the Dallow community. Through a process of listening and storytelling, Shemiza has gathered personal reflections from the residents and transformed this into a powerful audio drama.
The work features voices in English, Urdu and Bangla, reflecting the rich cultural fabric of the neighbourhood. The stories explore everyday life in Dallow – its routines, joys, challenges and the issues that matter most to the people who live here.
At the heart of the project is a familiar object: the sofa. A staple of the community, often seen on the high street or left behind, yet present in every home. Sofas witness our best and worst moments – places of rest, conversation, comfort and survival. From this shared experience comes Stories from the Sofa, the source of Echoes of Dallow.
What to expect:
- A listening session featuring excerpts from the audio drama
- Live monologues
- An audio exhibition
- A participatory storytelling activity inspired by the sofa
Come and listen, reflect and share in the stories that shape Dallow.
