Info
Theatre at Luton Henge! It is happening.
Join us on International Women’s Day for a script-in-hand performance of AWAKEN, a new play by Cheryl Prince of 5D Theatre.
AWAKEN tells the long-forgotten stories of women, the working class and cunning folk healers, who have been erased from official histories. Told in the working class language of Canting (pre-dating Cockney), AWAKEN is a work in progress and audience feedback is hugely valuable for the ongoing development of the work. So, please come ready to share your thoughts.
A 20-minute excerpt of the site-responsive piece will be presented outside at the Luton Henge. The performance will be followed by a post-show Q&A with guest panellists and feedback session inside Marsh House.
Please note, the performance will be hosted outdoors (weather dependent), so please wear warm clothes. The post-show Q&A and feedback session will be hosted indoors.
About 5D Theatre
5D Theatre was founded in 2022 by Lutonian theatre maker Cheryl Prince to bring magical realism back into the modern world. The company develops supernatural realist theatre that uses soul-led storytelling as a tool for social change, championing the often-marginalised voices of women, working-class communities, and healers.
5D Theatre is currently developing a trilogy of interconnected works and has been supported by Arts Council England, Park Theatre, Beacon Arts Centre, The Actors Temple, Bread & Roses Theatre, Revoluton Arts, Bedford Creative Arts, and Luton Arts Fund.
