RISE! is an exciting free outdoor arts event that brings 3 large wicker puppets to life in an immersive experience onto the streets of Luton town centre.
Be a part of the action as the town prepares to be captivated by an exciting event…From spoken-word and procession style performances to a mass dance routine featuring Luton based choreographer, Jean Abreu. Come and be part of it and RISE!
As part of the production team you will have the opportunity to join a team of fun, dynamic and like-minded individuals. Joining the team will provide an opportunity to make new friends, support the arts and experience an exciting event from a new perspective.
Be part of the production of RISE! No experience need.

What we are looking for:
Production Team We are currently looking for people that would like to help animate the puppets themselves, be technical support (lighting and sound) and are committed to providing an exceptional audience experience.
You will work within a team to ensure that the event runs smoothly
You will animate the puppets at the event and help to create a buzz
You will support the artists in helping them with the performance
As a “show participant”, part of the production team, you will help the wicker puppets to navigate the bustling streets of Luton. You will wow event goers with the marvel of puppet animation at the grandest scale, making their experience one to remember!
Training/Briefing: 4th 5th & 6th October 2018
4th : 6pm – 9pm (compulsory)
5th : 6pm – 9pm (compulsory)
6th : 5pm – 9pm – RISE! (The Event)
General info:
The production team will be based in Luton town centre
The event takes place in the outdoors through Bute Street, Guildford Street, the Town Hall, Alma Street and St George’s Square
You must be available for training on “puppet handling, lighting and sound” on 4th and 5th October at 6pm – 9pm. The event day is (6th October) from 5pm – 9pm.
Volunteers must be 16 years or over
Training will be provided.
