Is this for me?
The Makers Series workshops are designed for young people aged 16 – 30 from Luton. No experience required.
Info
Have you ever wanted to produce your own music? Or make tracks for music artists?
Step inside the Marsh House studio and get hands-on with the world of music production in this exciting workshop led by London-based producer, songwriter and DJ, Conrad Kira.
Whether you’re into hip-hop, house, grime, R&B, pop, electronic music, or just love sound, this session will give you the chance to get behind the controls and learn how producers turn ideas into finished tracks.
Working alongside Conrad, you’ll explore the building blocks of music production; creating beats, layering sounds and effects, music sampling, building melodies and discovering how a track comes together from scratch. You’ll experiment with professional studio software and equipment, collaborate with other participants and even begin creating your own original music.
This is your chance to discover the creative process behind song writing and production. Collaborate with other young creatives in a real studio environment and get a feel for how global hit records are made.
No experience is needed; just bring your ears, your ideas and your love of music.
About the Artist – Conrad Kira
Conrad is a South London DJ/Rapper and Producer. When Conrad’s not lurking in London he abides in a secret hide out in Japan where he indulges in a life of Anime, Video Games and Cheap Sake. “I like to be socially aware in my music but I also like to dance stupid and be a geek”. Conrad spent his childhood listening to Kraftwerk, Adam Ant and Tupac. However his biggest influence came from the Grime and Garage pirate radio stations, these are what drove him to want to write and make music.
