We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Exhibition Facilitators to support our upcoming presentation of Bussing Out with Theatre in the Mill. Exhibition Facilitators will play a key role in hosting the interactive installation, leading facilitated workshops, providing information to members of the public and ensuring feedback is gained from audiences.

About Bussing Out

The powerful installation reveals a hidden piece of British history – one that shaped the identities of many children from the global majority who arrived in Bradford and other cities across the UK during the 1960s and 1970s.

Bussing Out reveals the little-known government policy active between 1965 and 1976 that promoted the ‘dispersal’ of inner-city ‘immigrant’ children out to predominantly white schools in rural areas. Written and directed by Artistic Director Dr Shabina Aslam, the installation gathers shared heritage and memories of migration, belonging and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading exhibition set up and pack down

• Providing information to members of the public

• Facilitate a welcoming and inclusive environment for audiences

• Co-lead facilitated workshops with members of the public, schools and community groups

• Seek feedback from audiences and workshop participants

• Supporting accessibility needs where necessary

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of audiences

How to Apply

To apply, you must:

• Be aged 18+

• Have previous experience of workshop facilitation

• Have excellent customer service skills and willingness to communicate with the public

• Have a proactive, friendly and welcoming attitude

• You must be available for the following dates:

Wednesday, 8 April: 17:00 – 18:30 – Open Interview 

Tuesday, 14 April: 11:00 – 16:00 – Training Session 

Monday, 20 April – Saturday 2 May: Various dates/times TBC between 09:30 – 16:30 – Installation Delivery 

You will be paid £20 per hour (including for the training session).
