Info
Commissioned as a Revoluton Associate, Hayley Bromell platformed powerful stories of Luton’s rich Irish heritage, touching tales of emigration and a nostalgic walk down memory lane.
Hayley drew on her deep personal connections to create a space for Luton’s Irish community to tell their stories. Together, they co-created a zine to document hidden histories of individual journeys, launched at an event crammed with Irish craic. The zine was filled with interviews, including stories of resilience and reflections on why the Luton’s Irish community has been such an important and positive part of Luton town for decades.
On Saturday 8 March 2025 at The Pavilion in High Town, Hayley hosted a memorable evening celebrating Luton’s Irish community, bringing together people of Irish heritage and those eager to embrace and honour Irish culture. The night included poetry, traditional Irish music and an art exhibition created by participants of the Irish Heritage Creative Workshop. The finale event was vibrant, heartfelt and lively – attended by families and members of the wider community.
